Five of iOS' Best To-Do Applications
People lead busy lives, and it can be difficult to keep track of all that needs to be accomplished in a day, which is why the App Store has an infinite range of to-do and productivity applications.
Apple provides a built-in Reminders app and a built-in Notes app, all of which may be helpful, but most individuals would want to look for a third-party app if they need a comprehensive task tracking solution. We rounded up some of our favourite to-do choices with a variety of capabilities in our new YouTube video.
Notion (Free)
Notion is an all-in-one productivity software that's great if you need an app that integrates note taking and wiki development with to-do list making. It has a basic color coded interface, but it can actually be used to make neatly ordered notes and lists with a hierarchy as complicated or as simple as you need it to be.

Notion is cross-platform, so it runs on Mac and iOS, plus it has robust search tools, facilitates collaboration in real time, provides quick editing and rearrangement of lists, and works offline.
The software is free to use but it costs $4 a month to access the full range of features, including limitless "lines" of data and more than 5 MB of file uploads.
TeuxDeux ($2.99/Month)
Despite the cringeworthy name, if you need something that is quick, clear, and free of confusing bells and whistles, TeuxDeux is a solid to-do app. It's the most barebones that we've tried out of the to-do applications, and if you want a template that is similar to writing down tasks on a sheet of paper, it's an excellent option.

While basic, TeuxDeux provides many features that a to-do app must have such as recurring tasks, tasks that roll over if unfinished to the next day, Markdown support, quick gesture support for drag and drop, and the ability to use it on both the iPhone and the desktop.
TeuxDeux is a subscription-based app and it costs $2.99 per month or $24 for a year.
Things 3 ($9.99)
One of the most comprehensive to-do apps on our list is Things 3, and it is also one of the most common choices for the to-do list. There's a good reason for that - in a task management app, Cultured Code has included every feature you might ever like.

In the end, the design of the app is simple to use, but at first it can be daunting and it takes some time to get used to the full feature set. Fortunately, there is a built-in tutorial to familiarise you with Stuff 3.
Projects can be developed to arrange various activities, areas to separate stuff between work and family duties, or simply add a basic to-do. An inbox with parts such as Today, Upcoming, Whenever and Someday lets you keep track of what and when assignments need to be completed. If you want to organise all facets of your life Things 3 is the app to choose.
One of the few to-do applications that is not subscription-based is Stuff 3, and purchasing it costs $9.99. For Mac and iPad, Stuff 3 is also available, but each app must be purchased individually.
Todoist (Free)
A well-known to-do and list making software is Todoist, like Stuff 3. Different activities can be divided into parts as needed, spitting up everything from job duties to grocery lists. There is an inbox that shows you at a glance everything you need to do, plus parts for items you need to do immediately and over the next week.

Todoist makes it easy to use natural language in the app to jot down a simple to-do so that you can get it out of your mind, and it supports recurring dates and the ability to delegate tasks for joint projects to others. Personalized patterns in efficiency are included, so you can make sure that you remain on task.
Todoist is free to download, but it costs $3.99 a month or $35.99 per year for the premium version that unlocks all features (such as reminders).
Any.Do (Free)
Any.do is another popular app that's been around for years for task management. With deep organisational choices for handling regular to-dos, calendar tasks, assignments, lists, and more, it has a simple interface that belies its complexity.

It provides scheduled reminders, capabilities for note taking, collaboration features, integration of calendars, adding to-dos from email messages, quick gestures for drag and drop, and more. Using the app needs an account, but to make it simple, it supports logging in with Apple, and the app can be used with an account across all your devices.
Any.do is free to use but a premium plan starting at $9.99 per month for a one month subscription, $27 for a six month subscription, or $60 for a 12 month subscription is required to access all features.
Color tags, location-based reminders, advanced recurring reminders, bigger file uploads, sharing features and more are unlocked by a premium subscription.
Conclusion
On the 'App Store' there are thousands if not hundreds of to-do applications, and it is difficult to try them all out. It's worth checking out the choices on our page if you're searching for a new to-do app, as these are applications that we've tested and found useful.
