2022 iPhone Series for the recorded use of Samsung components to create 10x Periscope Zoom lenses

 

The 2022 iPhone lineup is far from hitting consumers, so you'll have to wait a while to see these handsets in motion if you want to experience unparalleled zoom speeds like never before. Apple is expected to source parts from Samsung, according to a new study, to allow the newer models to zoom up to ten times the normal level without sacrificing image quality.

The optical zoom on the new iPhones is currently limited to 2.5xx

The latest study from The Elec talks about the Electro-Mechanics division of Samsung, which supplies LG with actuators and lenses. LG will in turn, use these components to create Apple's folded or periscope camera. The report notes that this move should help Apple preserve its business relationship with LG and prevent any legal battles related to patent concerns in the future.

It is disappointing that 5x-10x zoom capabilities are available for Android flagship smartphones, although Apple is stuck on the iPhone 12 Pro Max with a 2.5x optical zoom. While we can accept that Apple favors consistency and waits before using it on its devices for the technology to mature, it is about time that we see enhanced zoom capabilities offered on these models. After all we can expect some developments in the camera department if you're paying a premium, not that the optics on the iPhone 12 are bad in any way.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max, expected to arrive next year, may be one of Apple's first models to get 8K video recording support in related news. Apart from this when capturing some videos, Apple could add an anamorphic lens that will implement enhanced stability, illustrating that the technology giant takes video capture of smartphones very seriously.
