Best 2021 Google Home accessories: Top products compatible with Google Home to purchase today

(Pocket-lint) - Google Home with a voice assistant is more than just an Internet-connected speaker. It functions as a smart home center as well. Smart home devices can also be powered by Google Assistant on Google Home or your Nest Hub, so here's a list of great devices you can use with Google Assistant.
Smart thermostats
By learning how you like your home warmed and when, smart thermostats not only bring intelligence to your home heating, they also make your heating more efficient. By accounting for when you're not in, they base temperature change on when you're going to be home and minimize power waste. This intelligence makes your smart home setup a great addition.
With Google Home devices, you can even monitor some smart thermostats - changing your home's temperature with nothing but your voice.
Nest Thermostat

You can use your voice to monitor the temperature in your house, switch between heating and cooling modes and more with Google Assistant on Google Home. Therefore, it operates with a Nest Thermostat, a Google-owned Nest product that actually offers smart devices other than thermostats.
Tell 'Make it warmer/cooler' or 'Raise/lower the temp' or 'Raise/lower the temp two degrees' or 'Set the temperature to 72' to change the temperature. Specify "Turn on the heat/cooling" or "Set the thermostat to cooling/heating" or "Turn thermostat to heat-cool mode" to shift heating or cooling modes. "And tell "Set the heat to 68" or "Set air conditioning to 70" to set the mode and temperature.
Honeywell Lyric T6

The Complete Link Comfort line of thermostats works with Google Home. You'll need to use a smart hub (like SmartThings) to attach if you want to use Lyric thermostats, like the Honeywell Lyric T6R smart thermostat. For more information on using smart hubs with Honeywell products, check out Google's FAQ page.
Yeah, and with Honeywell thermostats, all the same commands you can use with the Nest Thermostat still function.
Netatmo Smart Thermostat

One of the most funky-looking smart thermostats we've seen is the Netatmo Smart Thermostat. This system not only promises to use 37 percent less energy in your home, but it also allows you to monitor it remotely with Google Home via your phone, computer or your voice.
The famous French designer Philip Starck designed this thermostat, but it is not just its appearance that makes it stand out. You can tailor your heating schedule around your life with this thermostat. When you wake up in the morning, when you come home from work and more, set the ideal temperature. It helps you to use Apple Homekit, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and even Facebook Messenger to track and manage your energy usage.
Tado

Tado provides Google Home compatibility, too. The intelligent heating system operates with geo-fencing, so it will automatically turn off when it detects that everyone has left the building. When it sees someone coming home and is within a given distance, it will then spring into action.
Thanks to Tado's smart radiator thermostats, Google Home owners may monitor the heating using their speech, including being able to control separate spaces.
Outdoor smart home cameras
Not the only thing you can do with your voice is to regulate your home heating. Some of the best smart home cameras we've seen even include the ability to use Google Home to monitor them in different ways.
Netatmo Presence

The Netatmo Presence is a brilliant outdoor surveillance camera that not only keeps an eye on your house, but also doubles to illuminate your way and prevent unwelcome visitors as a floodlight device.
It's a weatherproof camera, with room for the microSD card and a sturdy build. This camera is also smart. It will tell people, animals and vehicles the difference and alert you to it on your phone.
The Netatmo Presence is voice-controllable in different ways, the most helpful of which may be the ability to remotely turn on the floodlight with your voice via Google Home.
Nest Cam IQ Outdoor

Nest's new and greatest outdoor home surveillance camera is the Nest Cam IQ Outdoor. This is a very cool system due to its wide field of view, 4K sensor, 1080p recording and IP66 rated housing.
Of course, as a Nest product, it also works naturally with Google Home devices. The Nest Cam IQ Outdoor allows you to cast footage that Google Chromecast from your camera to your TV. All that is required is a quick "Hey Google, play (location name) camera on my Chromecast" command and hey presto, there's a live stream on the big screen from your camera.
Arlo Pro 2

Thanks to the wide range of devices offered for a customisable system, Arlo is one of the most common security camera solutions, as well as providing free online storage of videos for up to five cameras for 7 days.
For fast installation and 1080p recording, the Arlo Pro 2 includes rechargeable batteries, so it's a great mid-range camera device. For those who want 4K, there's the Arlo Ultra. Arlo senses motion, has night vision and has sound detection as well.
Indoor smart home cameras
Smart home cameras are now available to keep an eye on the inside, as well as looking outside your home. With Google Home, some of these cameras also work, making them easy to monitor with only your voice.
Netatmo Welcome

The Netatmo Welcome is an intelligent smart home camera, like its outdoor brother, that does not need a subscription and records directly to the MicroSD card. It also includes automatic night vision mode, warnings for people and tech for facial recognition that lets you know who's at home.
Via Google Home, the Netatmo Welcome can be voice controlled - enabling you to easily cast live footage from the camera directly to your Chromecast-enabled TV.
Logitech Circle 2

A smart home camera with a lot to sell is the Logitech Circle 2. This camera provides 1080p streaming, two-way contact, night vision automatic, and even a super wide-angle lens.
For a small monthly charge, you can get 24-hours worth of footage for free or sign up for access to more recordings. With Google Home, Circle 2 is controllable as well. You can stream footage on your TV easily with some basic voice commands, as well as trigger various other settings.
Smart plugs
Even the most simple electronic device can be provided some knowledge with the help of smart plugs. A smart plug will enable you to set schedules for things to turn on or off - enabling you to do smart things with your electricity, such as being more effective or having a lamp to turn on at a certain time of day. The possibilities are shocking, but even more so when your voice helps you to monitor those plugs.
Belkin WeMo

If you hook up a compatible hub (again, like SmartThings), Google Home will monitor the entire WeMo family of devices. Restricted to a few smart plugs and switches would be those of you without a hub. The devices themselves are very smart, but it's pretty special to be able to manipulate plugs with only your voice. All right Google, turn the coffee machine on.
TP-Link HS110 Smart Plug

Another company that provides smart plugs that work not only with your smartphone but also with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant devices is TP-Link. With the aid of your favourite voice assistant, an easy-to-use app will make it even easier to manage your voice. The TP-Link devices are always discounted, so Prime Day or Black Friday deals are well worth picking.
Smart lighting and light bulbs
Smart lighting is a perfect addition to your home - enabling you to turn on lights at certain times of the day, change your phone's colours and brightness, and much more. To open up a world of possibilities and superb comfort, some smart lighting devices can also be operated via Google Home.
Philips Hue Lights

Without touching a switch, you can use your voice to monitor the Philips Hue lights around your home. You have the choice to switch a house's lights on or off, as well as the option to change their brightness. "You can say things like "Turn on <light name>," "Dim the name of <light>," "Brighten the name of <light>," "Set the name of <light> to 50 percent," "Turn green <light name>," etc.
Nanoleaf smart lighting panels

Nanoleaf provides a custom lighting system made of 16.7 million color-supported connectable panels. Not only can these smart lighting panels be controlled and personalized by the accompanying app, but with Google Home, they can also be turned on and off and modified.
Streaming sticks and boxes
You can watch a range of video content on your television with a simple plug and play interface and convert even regular televisions into smart devices. There are a range of available smart streaming devices and some of them still work with Google Home.
Google Chromecast with Google TV
Since it's a Google product, it might seem obvious, but Chromecast is compatible with Google Home as well. To conveniently cast video on any TV to which this streaming system is connected, you can use your Google smart speaker and assistant.
This works for sites such as Netflix, YouTube and many more. It's a smart way to cast material with ease. Google may also be asked to pause, play and rewind, too. A number of voice commands make it a thing of the past to pick up the TV remote to access content, even though if you don't have a paired smart speaker, the included remote still has voice commands.
Google Home also works with all Chromecast versions - Chromecast Audio, Ultra Chromecast and even the original Chromecast.
Roku streaming devices

When it comes to streaming sticks and boxes, Roku has long been one of our favourite computer manufacturers. These items are highly appealing with inexpensive access to a range of content with ease. Recent updates mean that streaming content can now now be managed through Google Home, which is yet another reason to purchase.
Robot vacuum cleaners
When it comes to easing the misery of keeping your house tidy, robot vacuum cleaners are a God-send. Automated vacuuming makes a lot of difference and making a robot do your bidding is something wonderful. The best part is some of these bots can be managed with your voice thanks to Google Home too.
iRobot Roomba i7+

Not all robot vacuum cleaners are equal and the capacity of the Roomba i7 + to dispose of its own dirt is equal. As well as working with Google Assistant, it provides great cleaning skills and visualization. It's a little bigger than some of them and not the quietest, but it has a few more talents.
Neato Robotics Botvac D7

Another smart and wired robot vacuum cleaner with plenty to offer is the Neato Botvac D7. It has smart mapping technology, multi-floor capabilities, and is packed full of sensors to help your home get around it. We noticed that the Botvac D7 was a clever little cleaning system, made even better by adding Google Home compatibility.
You can send the robot out to clean it using your voice, check its current battery levels, return it to the charging dock, and more.
