Best Christmas 2021 Star Wars gifts: Toys and accessories for both Padawans and Jedi Masters

(Pocket-lint) - A Star Wars fan is known to everyone. The Lucasfilm Space Opera is so ubiquitous at this stage that it may be an elderly relative or a young greenhorn, but it's almost certain that you will meet someone who feels the Force.

Now is as good a time as any to indulge in some Star Wars toy goodness, with Rise of the Skywalker having ended the Skywalker Saga. A gadget or toy with a Star Wars theme is a pretty safe bet for a gift or a little self-indulgence.

So, some of the neatest choices, from remote-controlled droids to your very own lightsaber, have been rounded up.

The Skywalker Saga

Now that one of the biggest and longest-running movie sagas is complete, if you're able to splash out a considerably higher amount, it's the perfect time to get your hands on a complete collection of films on Blu-ray, or 4K Blu-ray. Some of the most entertaining films ever made will be netted, with oodles of bonus content to be scanned as well.

Sphero BB-8

For any Star Wars fan, the Sphero BB-8 is a must-have toy, and basically an institution at this stage. One of the major stars of the Star Wars franchise is the dinky robot friend, and you can handle your very own robot sidekick now. You can get a BB-8 either on your own, where you can monitor it with an app on your mobile, or with a Force Band that allows you to use force to drive it in various directions.

A number of app-enabled droids, including R2-D2, R2-Q5, and BB9-E, were also released by Sphero. As with BB-8, with any of the droids, you can watch the Star Wars movies and they will react to different scenes. When you have them all running around your floor at home, they will also play with each other.

Now, actually, Sphero has stopped making these droids, but all over the place there is still stock to be found, so don't despair!

D-O Interactive Droid

However, if you liked Skywalker's The Rise, you could be searching for a slightly newer droid friend. D-O is straight from the newest movie, and looks like she's an absolute cutie. You can control the droid with this interactive toy, but even play different games with it, and even set it to follow you around passively, if quiet companionship is more than what you're looking for.

Star Wars The Child Animatronic Edition

Right now, the only big ongoing Star Wars storey is being told by The Mandalorian on Disney+, and The Kid is the breakout star - all right, yeah, Baby Yoda.

This great animatronic TV doll is the cutest alien ever, and it's perfect to play with, as if you had a little friend of your own.

The Child Funko Pop

This Funk Pop looks like one of the hottest collectables going on at the moment, recreating the Mandalorian of Disney+'s adorable cutie of our choosing and somehow making it much cuter than before.

Star WarsMonopoly: The Force Awakens Edition

In this new version of Monopoly, based on Star Wars, you can choose whether to play on the side of the Empire or the Rebels. It's capitalism, but not as you know it — hotels are being replaced by planets with bases and emails. Like every family knows, though, when you start losing patience with each other's ruthless business decisions, don't blame Monopoly.

LittleBits Droid Inventor Kit

Kids big and small will be able to teach new tricks to their R2 robot and take it on more than 16 missions in the Star Wars universe using LittleBits electronic block technology and the free Droid Inventor app. It also includes coding now, so young people (and older users) can unlock six additional in-app challenges, which use a simple drag-and-drop system to programme them.

Star Wars 3D Death Star Wall Light

If you like the concept of a frightening space station in the bedroom, this 3D Death Star wall light comes complete with a wall crack decal to make it look as though it has crashed through your wall. The light is battery-powered so can be put anywhere in your room and uses LED bulbs to light it up.

Lego Star Wars Millenium Falcon

The best Lego is Star Wars Lego - you read it first here. There is a great variety of awesome Star Wars-themed sets, but maybe the old classic, the Millennium Falcon, is the pick of the bunch. Kids have been yearning for years to create the Falcon in Lego shape, so don't wait around - snap it up!

Lego Star Wars The Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Transport Starship

This excellent reproduction of the central starship of The Mandalorian, our hero's transport and often home to Baby Yoda, is one of the very newest Lego Star Wars kits available.

It is a remarkable style that, in its own right, looks set to become very iconic.

Star Wars Kylo Ren Force FX Lightsaber

With this high-quality replica lightsaber, the weapon of a certain Kylo Ren, channel your inner Star Wars villain! It features realistic light effects, plays the movie with authentic sounds, and comes complete with a tasteful show stand.

Luke Skywalker Battle Simulation Helmet

At one time or another, we all fantasized about a bit of Luke Skywalker, right? Looking up at two stars in the sky, wondering when our way will come to destiny. Well, wait no longer, this premium replica helmet can make you feel like a Skywalker, with sound effects to make you feel like you're in the Fight of Yavin yourself, as is likely in this galaxy.
