(Pocket-lint) - The iPhone XR is no longer such a spring chicken - it now sits in Apple's lineup below the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro models, and has older interiors than the current iPhone SE. However, without the associated costs of the latest versions, it still provides a great choice for consumers who want an iPhone with the newest design.

The configuration of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor in place of Face ID and a notched display is also identical to the iPhone 11, but it has a single rear camera over a dual rear camera and comes in different colours.

The XR has a glass back, much like the iPhone 8 lineup and the premium iPhone 11 models, which means security is key. Here are some of the best cases we have come across for the iPhone XR.

Apple



It took Apple a while to launch a formal case for the iPhone XR, but finally it did. It's a simple snap on the case, highlighting the colorful style of the XR. The shell, made of polycarbonate and flexible TPU materials, sits over the buttons of the unit and is compatible with wireless Qi chargers.

Apple Smart Battery Case



Apple now has a battery cover for the iPhone XR, in addition to the transparent snap-on case. The iPhone XR battery case, available in black and white colour options, is claimed to boost the battery life of the XR and include 39 hours of talk time, 22 hours of internet or 27 hours of video playback.
