Best Tidy Cable 2021: Sort your messy cables out!
(Pocket-lint) - There's nothing like staring down the back of most people's televisions or a lot of desks underneath to leave you with no confidence in humanity. The crazy jumble of cables and wires that certain individuals put up with the belief of seriously beggars. When the number of electronic devices we own increases, so does the number of cables, eventually.
Thankfully, there are plenty of items to help you out, regardless of what kind of mess you have, or how neat and secret things need to be for you. Whatever your budget, there is something for you out there that can help get your sanity back.
Bluelounge Cable Box

There's one company whose goal is to put the cable mess in order in your country, and that's Bluelounge. It's a business that makes solutions that are well built, appealing and durable. On this page, you can find many of the company's different goods, but also, cheaper alternatives. The Cablebin is a rectangular plastic box designed to house extension chords for multi-port control.
It is made of fire-retardant plastic and takes any power strip or surge protector up to 40 cm long and 14 cm high, and does a fantastic job of covering the unavoidable mess around TVs and computers.
There's a cable bin that looks more like your normal under-desk trash receptacle and comes with an elegant wooden finish if you need a larger one, which also takes up less floor space.
Hama cable management box

It's cheaper than the Bluelounge edition, but it does a lot of the same job, even though it looks and feels less polished and cheaper - but then, if your budget is smaller, it's likely to be all right with you.
Bluelounge SOBA tube system

Chances are you have more than one cable coming from them if you have a TV or computer, leading to other electronic devices and peripherals. You'll have cables for both of them, whether it's your router, console, printer, Blu-ray player, computer or whatever, and if they're not tidied up, they're an eyesore. The cable sleeve that wraps them all together is one solution, hiding them in a cocoon of tidiness that runs in one direction.
This is a tried and tested Bluelounge SOBA tube device, and a favourite here at Pocket-lint. It is good to look at and well built, like the rest of Bluelounge's products. The drawback is that, while preserving its utility, you can only carry 3-4 cables at once. It's 10 feet long, or about 3 meters long, which means you can cut it to whatever length you like.
It comes with many plastic ends and junctions so that, without detracting from the clean and tidy look, you can have cables go off in various directions. The plastic end caps ensure that at the end of each strip, you're not left staring at frayed tubes.
However, what we really appreciate is how you add it to the wire. You use a semi-circle plastic "zipper" because this tube is inherently really tight, pulling it down to loosen the tubing as you feed the cable into it. When done, the "zipper" is removed and your cables are as snug as a bug and kept together securely.
Fisual Chunky reusable cable ties

If you're not too disturbed by the sight of the exposed cable, the quick cable tidy is a perfect way to keep all your cables neat and tidy together. If something heavy - a TV, for example - already blocks your view of the cables, all you need is a few Velcro strips to hold the HDMI, power and audio leads tightly tucked together in a way that doesn't offend your eyes.
These are the best cable ties for no-frills and are available in black or white in 10, 20, or 40 packs. They are 150 mm long, meaning without being too much of a stretch, you can keep together about 5-8 standard cables.
Bluelounge CableDrop

We now use several power outlets to charge our batteries, with smartphones, handheld consoles and tablets taking over our lives. The only issue is that there are normally power outlets and surge protectors on or near the floor. That's not where you want to be with your valuable £ 700 smartphone.
So you charge your phone on top of your bedside table, or drawer, just so that any time you unplug it, your cable drops to the floor. Enter: the clip for the cable. These come in several ways, but basically make sure you don't drop your cables.
No wonder Bluelounge's got these in abundance. The Cabledrop comes in six or nine packs, in white or black, and does a fantastic job of making sure your cables stay where they're supposed to be. They're not cheap, but they really do work well. There is a self-adhesive underside of the product so that you can attach it to something, and the mouth is small enough to avoid any cable from slipping through.
BUBM bag cable organizer

Chances are, you have more than just cables in your pocket if you're a tech-savvy user. For eg, if you have a new Macbook, you'll probably have several dongles for different purposes as well. We've found the affordable organizer of the BUBM bag to be an invaluable instrument for carrying essentials around.
We have wired earphones with the medium-sized version, a Lightning cable, a Type-C cable, a micro USB cable, two SD cards, a card reader, a Lightning to SD adapter, a handful of small Type-C adapters, a Type-C to Ethernet and three-port USB 3.1 dongle, a Type-C to HDMI and USB dongle from Apple and a compact dual battery charger for our GH4 batteries.
STM Dapper Wrapper Organizational wrap

There's the STM Dapper Wrapper for something a little more premium, better looking and well-made. Rather than opening up like a book or folder, it wraps around itself with a very handy magnetic clip and fastens shut. The way it looks and how easy it is to bring around, we really like it.
Cocoon Grid-it

The Grid-it by Cocoon features interwoven, solid, elasticated strips on the outside instead of an open-up pouch. They are structured such a way that practically any small object of any size or shape can be organized in any way you like. In personalized tidying, it's the ultimate.
