Durability Test iPhone 12 Pro reveals how resistant the ceramic shield is when it comes to scratches

During its iPhone 12 Pro presentation, Apple stated that the Ceramic Shield, which is sandwiched together to provide additional security to the flagship, is said to have four times the crack resistance of normal glass. This would make it more robust, right, than normal glass? Well, we really can't take the word of Apple for it and neither can JerryRigEverything, who agreed on the 6.1-inch premium handset to conduct a durability examination.
The ceramic shield appears to display the same scratch resistance as the same form of glass on the most premium Android flagships.
On the latest $999 iPhone 12 Pro, Zach just got his hands and what better way to test it than to run a reliability test on it. The new design of the iPhone 12 Pro, according to the YouTuber, would add more to the security we spoke about earlier, because the front glass sits slightly lower, making the side frames vulnerable to impact first, thus shielding the screen. Nevertheless, he whips out his Mohs hardness picks and notes that at level 6, the front glass scratches, but the marks left behind are less noticeable compared to the tests he has seen before.
The same test is repeated on the rear camera lenses in order to see how scratch-resistant the three units are. The lens leaves marks from a level-6-pick, much like the show. The remarkable feature of Ceramic Shield is that it conducts heat relatively slowly, which is why there are no permanent OLED damage marks even after the screen has been in contact with heat for more than half a minute when Zach attempts to bring the flame of his lighter against the panel.
Onto the bending exam, which on every episode of JerryRigEverything is our favourite part, just to see whether smartphone manufacturers have taken shortcuts when it comes to their product's durability. When pressure is applied from both sides, the iPhone 12 Pro holds out incredibly well not flexing an inch. This is impressive to see, and when it comes to adhering to the durability of its goods, we should commend Apple.
In short, even after it has gone through light or moderate levels of violence, you should expect the iPhone 12 Pro to last for a considerably long time. Those annual iOS updates also indicate that Apple's latest and greatest tech features can be accessed by users, which is a bonus. As for the Ceramic Shield, to actually call it an advance in durability, it seems like there would have to be more variations from the company, but at least we're getting somewhere.
