Facebook starts testing Dark Mode publicly for Android
The Facebook app and the website have now undergone a fresh facelift. Now you are having the key blue colour scheme. You have a lighter hue of blue now and even numerous highlights. Also the white one is much more popular, and the regular dark mode is available on desktop and iOS, of course.
The official Facebook Android app has been without dark mode for the longest time, but that seems to be changing now as Facebook has begun officially testing dark mode for its official Android Facebook app.
Dark Mode will eventually hit the Facebook Android App soon
Jane Manchun Wong posted a video of how the dark mode on her Android app is going to look, and it's just as we imagined it to be. We will connect to the video below without keeping you waiting.
Jane is notorious for tweeting about unreleased features of many apps like Facebook, but as it was actually created in collaboration with Facebook, this tweet was not a leak. You have to realize, however that public testing is on a smaller scale, as it is not usable, I included for a lot of users. So it's fair to say that, pretty soon, it will go to a wider foundation. Needless to say, it's about time for Facebook to get dark mode for Android, because let's admit it, dark mode inherently looks great when it's done correctly.
As far as the remaining Facebook-owned apps are concerned, both WhatsApp and Instagram have been revamped for years now with dark mode. Facebook's iOS app has also been around for some time now and we are finally getting access to the dark mode on Facebook's Android version.
It shouldn't come as a surprise, but particularly if you have an OLED panel phone, the dark mode looks gorgeous because the darker shades, even when they are grey, look completely gorgeous.
Did you get the dark mode on the app? Oh, let us know.
