Finding Samsung SmartThings will help you locate missing Galaxy devices

To be honest, losing your gadgets is never a fun thing. Especially if for one reason or another you have invested a lot of money on it just to lose it. That is why the launch of SmartThings Find was announced by Samsung today. A new service that uses ultra-wideband technology and low-energy Bluetooth technology to easily locate your lost Galaxy phone, smartwatches, earbuds, or tablets.
SmartThings Find has been under beta testing for some time now and almost six million individuals have tested it out in locations like the US, according to Samsung. U.K. U.K. And Korea, and now Samsung is globally launching the service.
Finding your misplaced Galaxy gadgets has just become easier with SmartThings Find
Starting today, Samsung will begin rolling out a new update to the SmartThings app that will have the SmartThings Find service built-in to it. Once you have access to the feature, you can start using it by tapping the banner in the SmartThings app at the bottom of the home screen.
Of course, the add-on will need to be downloaded by users, and in addition, you will also need to go through a small registration process, and after that you will be able to locate your Galaxy gadgets, which is nice because even an individual earbud can be identified by SmartThings Find.
SmartThings Find also uses a Search Nearby augmented reality-based feature that shows colour graphics that grow in intensity as you get closer to your computer. Offline devices may also be found. Once the system is offline for 30 minutes, it will create a BLE signal that other Galaxy devices will receive. Any nearby Galaxy phone or tablet that has chosen to help locate misplaced devices will be able to let the Samsung server know about the location if you go ahead and report your device as lost through SmartThings Find.
At the time of writing, on all Galaxy phones and tablets running Android 8 or later, and Galaxy Watch devices running Tizen 5.5, SmartThings Find is available. Galaxy Buds Plus, Galaxy Buds Live, will operate with the service, but it does not support the original Galaxy Buds. As for UWB-assisted tracking, this functionality is restricted to the Galaxy Note 20 and Z Fold 2 devices only, since this technology is not supported by others.
I think this feature will make life simpler, particularly for the clumsier ones who continue to lose their Galaxy Buds or their Galaxy Watch, as a Samsung consumer and someone who is tied into the ecosystem.
