Next month, Samsung SmartThings will get Google Nest Integration

 


By making it better than it already is, it seems like Samsung wants to give SmartThings some more publicity. The company has announced a new smart home platform update today, but the update is planned for next year.

When the update actually arrives on the hardware, it will allow users to use SmartThings to monitor their Google Nest home automation devices, which basically ensures that most of your smart home devices will be powered by the same app, making the whole experience much more coherent.

This agreement also ensures that WWST (Works With SmartThings) certification will be awarded to all Google Nest products, such as cameras, thermostats and doorbells.

The reason Samsung does this is that they are trying to improve customer compatibility. In addition to that, they also want to simplify the production of smart technology for farmers. Samsung explains how they are committed to developing a universal framework in which they can operate in tandem with all smart home devices.

Although I don't own any Google Nest devices personally, I understand the ability to monitor your devices from a single source. In addition, along with compatible devices from SmartThings, I know a lot of individuals who own them. So it is fair to assume that this collaboration would give users around the globe a good reception.
