Samsung is reportedly working on a 600MP sensor, but the timetable for launch is not verified right now.

Big megapixel counts seem to go hand-in-hand with Samsung, with the Korean giant reportedly working on a 600MP sensor. Earlier, several sources said Samsung was working on a 108MP camera for its upcoming lineup of smartphones. According to a slide posted by a tipster, when that actually materialized, it seems the organization has ambitious ambitions for the future.
Samsung's latest 600MP camera sensor will take up 12 percent of the back panel of the smartphone, depending on the size of the model.
For upcoming smartphones, a new slide posted by Ice Universe offers information about Samsung's plans to launch a 600MP camera sensor. The South Korean giant has previously been claimed to be working on a sensor of this caliber, but even then it looks like these will first be built into vehicles, then make their way to smartphones. The possibilities of getting more headroom in the future when it comes to capturing high-quality footage on mobile devices have only dramatically improved with 8K video capture already possible on smartphones, although in a restricted capacity.
When capturing still images or video without compromising the quality, the principle behind adding a sensor with an abnormally high megapixel count is likely to allow users to zoom into objects and other things of interest. It will be an uphill fight for the company, however to add even one of these sensors. For one thing, we believe that the camera bump is likely to be upgraded by a 600MP sensor from Samsung, and the company will have to find a way to reduce the size or risk the system looking obnoxious.
In addition, the slide shared by Ice Universe suggests that while protruding 22 mm, a large sensor would take up approximately 12 percent of the back of the handset. It's not going to be a pretty sight for a Galaxy S flagship from a design perspective, so it will be fascinating to see the kind of workaround Samsung comes up with. It is also important to remember that before we ever see a 600MP sensor, as Samsung is rumoured to have started work on this we will probably see a 250MP camera first.
