Subscriptions to Apple One Package are now available-Fitness+ will launch later this year

Apple has launched its latest bundled subscriptions for Apple One. Music, TV+, Arcade, and iCloud storage are bundled with the latest subscriptions at one monthly price. These new plans allow users to save, while still sharing the subscriptions at a lower monthly cost with their families.

During the earnings call yesterday, Apple CFO Luca Maestri said that the company will be rolling out its Apple One packages today. It has also been announced that Fitness+ will not be published today, and will be introduced later this quarter.

Originally, Apple One subscriptions were revealed at WWDC 2020. For the subscriptions, Apple announced 3 distinct levels, each based on a different group of users. Music, TV+, Arcade, and iCloud Storage will be the default collection of apps in all three levels. News + and Fitness + will be included in the Premium tier, available only in 6 countries at launch, although the latter will not be launched until later this year.

Apple One subscription bundles

Here are the three Apple One subscription bundles that the company will be offering:

Individual - $14.95/month

  • Apple Music
  • Apple TV+
  • Apple Arcade
  • 50 iCloud Storage

Family - $19.95/month

  • Apple Music
  • Apple TV+
  • Apple Arcade
  • 200GB iCloud Storage
  • Can be shared with six family members

Premier - $29.95/month

  • Apple Music
  • Apple TV+
  • Apple Arcade
  • Apple News+
  • Apple Fitness+
  • 2TB iCloud Storage
  • Can be shared with six family members
These are the savings users can expect from these subscription bundles:
  • Individual: $6/month
  • Family: $8/month
  • Premier: $25/month
Premier will only be available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, while individual and family packages will be released in over 100 countries.

These packages are part of Apple's goal of growing its customer base of services and recurring sales through subscriptions. They tend to be decent value for money at first glance, but Apple has really skimped on the amount of iCloud storage it provides for each package. With its Family subscription, the company provides a limited amount of room, just 200GB. It just seems unjustified to share anything less than 1 TB amongst 6 family members.

Apple notes on its website that additional iCloud storage can be purchased separately, but for users who do, they completely miss out on any savings that these bundles offer. 2TB storage costs $9.99, and adding it to the Family bundle means that you end up paying $2 more, instead of saving $8.
