First iPhone 12 Teardown Video Shows up Online, While Also Showing Comparison Between iPhone 11 Components

While on Friday, October 23, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be officially available, the first wave of unboxing and reviewing has already been released. Soon after to show the updates on the inside, it was only a matter of time before anyone got their hands on the new Apple gadgets. A tiny clip that seems to have originated in China reveals the innards of Apple's new 6.1-inch iPhone 12, but it wasn't iFixit that did the honors.

The discrepancies between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 components are also seen by Fresh Teardown Video

DuanRui released a brief iPhone 12 teardown video on Twitter, two minutes and twenty seconds in length. Although you have to wonder how the person conducting the teardown completed the procedure in less than three minutes on earth? Well the video was accelerated to shorten the total time it took to detach the iPhone 12 so that the minute length can be demonstrated.

Moving forward, all it takes is to detach two screws on either side of the charging port and to isolate the display assembly from the rest of the chassis using a suction tool. The bad thing about this method is that the adhesive that gives the iPhone 12 its water-resistance can no longer maintain its effectiveness once the sandwiched region separates. We remind you not to take it near bodies of water if you intend to conduct an iPhone 12 teardown on your own, as you don't know how powerful the adhesive would be when holding dust, debris and water out.

What can be gathered from the iPhone 12 teardown is that the Taptic Engine appears to be smaller than the chip present in the iPhone 11, digging deeper and separating the components. It looks like Apple has found a way to decrease the Taptic Engine's size while making no compromise on its features. When a thorough teardown is published in the near future, we'll have to see just how well this little part functions.

Since both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be officially available from Friday in different markets, it won't be long before a thorough teardown arrives, so stay tuned for that.
