iOS 14.2 Battery Drain Issues

Via software updates, Apple manages the hardware and although it is meant for good, often it causes user problems. Apparently, after upgrading to iOS 14.2, several iPhone users experience battery drain problems. If you are also a victim of the problem, know that you are not alone.

After upgrading to iOS 14.2, users report excessive battery drain problems

Some iPhone users complain on Apple developer forums, as stated earlier, about faster battery drainage and longer charging times after upgrading to iOS 14.2. In addition, users are also claiming that in less than 30 minutes, their iPhones lose over 50 percent of the battery. Furthermore, in just a few minutes of use a significant portion of the battery life is diminished.

As a high number of individuals are reporting battery drainage, the problem seems to be linked to software. The sudden gain in battery percentage after a person restarts his or her iPhone is another aspect of the problem. Note that battery drain problems with iOS 14.2 are mainly present on older iPhone devices, including the iPhone 6S, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, and iPhone XS.

Both iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 were launched just two weeks after iOS 14.1. Right now the problems concerning iOS 14.2 users have not arisen. For the past few days, users have been complaining about the problem. A big update related to the amount of features it has to deliver is iOS 14.2. New emoji, Intercom, People Recognition, new wallpapers, and many more are some of the forward-facing additions.

There is no official word or documentation on the problems with battery drain and that it was patched in the new update to iOS 14.2.1. The update fixed problems found with MMS texts, a big problem with the screen, and hearing aids for the iPhone. The third iOS 14.3 beta has been issued to developers by Apple and it is likely that the company could have addressed the problem in the update. The general public could, however have to wait for the official update to arrive.

We're going to keep you guys updated on the latest and be sure to stay tuned in when Apple fixes the problem. Since upgrading to iOS 14.2, is your iPhone a victim of excessive battery drain problems? In the comments, let us know.
