Best Android smartwatch 2021: The top Wear OS watches.

(Pocket-lint) - Since it was originally released, Google's Wear OS - formerly known as Android Wear - has seen many significant updates, all of which have added several new features, including iOS compatibility, making it increasingly appealing not only to Android users, but also to iPhone users.

We have a separate best smartwatch feature that you can check out with the best of all platforms, including Wear OS, Tizen and watchOS from Apple, but this article is all about Wear OS. Here are the best smartwatches currently out there for Wear OS.

Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch

One of the new models in the company's portfolio is the Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch, with the same internal components as the Puma smartwatch. Even if they are all pretty tall, there are plenty of designs available and the watch straps are simple to adjust for a different look. This is some of the purest use of Wear OS you can find in many respects, and it's the best it's ever been right here.

The latest Wear 3100 processor offers smoother performance than previous Fossil smartwatches, while the charge speed of the battery is much quicker than it was before, and to make it a perfect all-rounder, there is also a heart rate monitor and built-in GPS.

Micheal Kors Bradshaw 2

From waterproofing and built-in GPS to a built-in speaker and customizable watch faces, the Michael Kors Bradshaw 2 oozes design and style, provides a variety of features and offers great overall efficiency.

The battery life could be better, the design is not very good for all the fitness features offered, and it has some iOS connection problems, but for the Michael Kors fan, it's all you could ask for in a smartwatch, perfectly combining traditional Kors style with modern day smarts.

Michael Kors Access Runway

Another fabulous Kors smartwatch is the Michael Kors Access Runway. It provides a solid standard of construction, a trendy style, a lovely show and a fantastic addition to the customizable faces of Michael Kors. The battery life is not the best out there and it is not really built to work out in, despite providing some fitness features, but the overall experience is a fantastic one.

Compared with the Access Sofie, which is a little further down this list, you get a few extra features, including built-in GPS and Google Pay compatibility, as well as a heart rate monitor. As the Sofie is, the Access Runway is also waterproof. It's not going to be for everyone, but it's everything you could like for a Kors fan.

Skagen Falster 3

The Skagen Falster 3 is a stunning, elegant smartwatch that oozes design simplicity, making it a great choice for those who are after a discreet smartwatch.

Its battery life is not brilliant and it has old hardware under its hood, occasionally making it a little laggy, but the sleek design is fantastic, it's waterproof and it has a good experience with display and apps.

Micheal Kors Access MKGO

Another Kors smartwatch to consider is the Michael Kors Access MKGO, but this one is more suited to the active user than the Bradshaw, Runway and Sofie models, also on this list. It's heavily branded, which may not be to the taste of everyone, but the MKGO has a lightweight and sporty style, a stunning show, and we love those customizable Kors faces.

The battery life could be better and the performance could be a little faster, but for a decent price, the MKGO has a great feature set, including waterproofing, built-in GPS and Google Pay. For an enthusiastic fan of Kors, it's a fantastic smartwatch.

Tag Heuer Connected 2021

The price tag attached to Tag's premium smartwatch is no escape, but it at least backs it up with excellent efficiency and excellent build quality.

If you're looking for a truly dedicated sports watch, it may not be perfect, but this is a decent choice for those who want style alongside some metrics.

TicWatch Pro

A very flexible smartwatch is the TicWatch Pro. It's a fantastic smartwatch from Wear OS, but it's also an attractive smartwatch that can be worn to work and work out, something that not all smartwatches can do.

The TicWatch Pro is also comfortable, and while it won't be for everybody, the chunky style will be great for others. It also has a fantastic battery life for this smartwatch and is far more affordable than other rivals.

Casio WSD-F21HR

If you're into your outdoor sports, but don't like the likes of a really pricey Garmin watch, for years now, Casio has been making great rough Wear OS watches.

This new model brings to the table heart rate tracking, which we have been wanting for years, and alongside an impressive dual-layer screen, it gets great battery life.

Diesel On Full Guard

A perfect smartwatch for Diesel fans is the Diesel On Full Guard smartwatch. It provides a trendy design and an attractive style, but this is a very large smartwatch, so you need to be a fan of Diesel's chunky look.

The Diesel On Full Guard is a good choice for those after a Wear OS smartwatch that is heavy on design but not necessarily full of functionality. It has an outstanding monitor, adds Diesel tools and operates seamlessly with the Wear OS platform.

Michael Kors Access Sofie

A luxurious and waterproof design is offered by the Michael Kors Access Sofie, enough bling to make it stand out from the rest of the Wear OS crowd while still offering a respectable performance.

The Sofie comes with a totally round watch face and customizable Michael Kors watch faces are on board, like all Kors Access watches, making this smartwatch feel that little bit more unique than its rivals. The options for customization and the organizing of "Looks" are also excellent, particularly for those who like to match their watch with their outfit. The Sofie is a great choice for MK fans who like the company's signature, chunky and blingy watches but want them connected.
